Her most recent photographic series Conversations with My Old Self explores her personal identity and her process of growing older through autobiographical images. She is reflecting on the physical aspects of her aging in Conversations with my Old Self, the image which was the starting point of the project and raised the question for her, how she feels about the trajectory of her changing body and the evidence of its mortality. Based on the idea that we are multi-faceted being, she uses a non-linear and non-chronological approach to share snippets, gestures, glances, and memories that connect her present self to her younger self. Her early family life was marred by abusive relationships, neglect and intergenerational trauma. To her, the exploration of these familial relationships is cathartic. With an introspective approach in her images, she revisits her childhood, familial expectations, life calamities, vulnerability, and emotional states. The images also express her search for agency, resilience, strength and joy.
